Candle Care
Once you have brought your fantastic Tillylake Candle we want you to have the most wonderful experience, so here’s a little guide on how to get the most out of your candle.
When your decide to burn your candle for the first time try to resist not to blow the candle out until the top layer of wax has melted all the way across. ( this is because soya wax has a memory, yes a memory, it will melt every time the same way as the first burn ) also this will give your candle time to heat up and release the fantastic fragrance so keep this in mind.
Each time you want to burn your candle from then onwards please trim and wick back to 1/8 and 1/4 inches long and remove any carbon that may have built up ( you do not want any of that carbon dropping into your candle as your fantastic creamy soya wax will change to a dirty colour ) you could use scissors or a specialised wick trimmer if you have one. This will make for a happy candle it will burn a cleaner and brighter burn.
SAFTEY FRIST
When to stop burning. As much as we love our new candles and they smell amazing please leave about 1.5 cm and then blow out that flame. If you burn you candle all the way to the bottom the flame will get bigger and become dangerous as debris can ignite and catch fire. Even if a fire doesn’t ignite, as the wax becomes very low level this increases the livelihood of the flame brushing against the sides and the bottom. If the glass container gets hot enough, it could shatter.
SAFETY.
Keep your candle on a flat, stable, heat resistant surface. Take care when putting a candle on a cold surface eg glass or stone . As your candle starts to heat up and the bottom of the candle becomes hot, the cold surface may cause the glass to crack, where possible place your candle on a candle plate, or on a fire resistant matt/ coaster.
KEEP AWAY FROM FLAMMABLE MATERIALS , NEVER LEAVE THE CANDLE AROUND CHILDREN.
NEVER LEAVE THE CANDLE UNATTENDED
In all when you receive your Tillylake candle please take time and enjoy your first burn it may take time to reach the edges of your jar/glass but it will be worth it and from then on your candle will burn brightly and cleanly
